Real Estate Management for Odoo: what it covers, what it doesn't and whether it fits

Real Estate Management fits if you already run Odoo 17, 18, 19 or 20 and a local service that monitors the module's sources and its health in your database and provides support works for you, bearing in mind it does not include setup, importing historical data, customisation or migrations. Before installing it, decide who will configure it, check what data leaves your database and choose the Odoo version you will run it on.

What you will see on screen

Before looking at what the service covers, it helps to see the screens you will be working with. Below are three views of the module: a list inside Odoo and two portal views. For the full tour of menus, scheduled actions and states, see how Real Estate Management works under the bonnet. Here we focus on deciding whether it suits you.

Property list in Odoo with address, reference, type, floor area, year built and cadastral ID
The property list with six records of residential, commercial and mixed type, plus the search bar and the New button.
Odoo portal form for reporting a maintenance issue
On the portal, the Report a maintenance issue form asks for property, type, title and description, with the Send request button and a table of requests showing their status.
Active lease viewed from the Odoo portal with dates, monthly rent, deposit and invoices
An active lease on the portal: property, dates, monthly rent, deposit, an issue button and a table with three rent invoices.

What the FlexigoTech Cloud local service includes

Real Estate Management is a module with a FlexigoTech Cloud local service. According to its listing, the subscription includes:

  • Monitoring of the module's sources, with their alerts and the calendar of their deadlines.
  • Monitoring of the module's health in your database, with alerts.
  • Support with response times: the first response within 1 working day.
  • The service on the staging and test copies of your database as well.

To do this, your database runs a check of the service every 6 hours and sends health reports. When you uninstall the module, a notice is sent. If you work with a staging or test copy, it is covered by the service just like your production database.

What is left out and how to handle it

This is often where the real decision lies: it is not only whether the module does what you need, but who takes care of what the service does not cover. The listing sets out what is excluded. This table matches each point with what falls to you:

If you needWhat the listing saysWhat suits you
Someone to configure the moduleConfiguring the module for you (the setup) is not part of the serviceConfigure it yourself or commission the implementation separately
To load older dataImporting historical data is not includedPlan that import as separate work
To adapt the module to how you workCustomisation of the module or custom development is not includedCommission custom development separately
To move your database to another Odoo versionWe do not take care of migrating your database to a new Odoo versionHandle the migration another way before relying on the module in the new version
Help with other authors' modulesSupport for modules that are not ours is not includedLook for that support outside this service
Accounts on other platformsThird-party costs are yours: you contract and pay for your account on each platform, Odoo and your hosting yourselfHave those accounts and their cost sorted before installing

If nobody in your company will spend time configuring the module, that is the first point to settle. The service will not do it for you.

What data leaves your database

If your internal policy or your data protection officer needs to know what is sent outside, the listing spells it out. Your database sends:

  • The identifier (uuid) of the database, its address (URL) and the Odoo version.
  • The FlexigoTech modules installed, with their version, and whether the database is a neutralised copy (staging or test).
  • The company name and the email of the person who accepts, with the date and version of the text accepted.
  • A public code to check that requests come from this database, and a proof that it is this database, computed on your server without sending its secret.
  • A request for its service permit every 6 hours, and the health of the module: counters and errors (type and code), without the content of your records.
  • Its requests for the alerts and the calendar of this module, with the date of the last alert received: the database identifies itself and sends nothing else.

All connections to FlexigoTech's servers are encrypted (HTTPS) and those servers are in Germany. The security measures of FlexigoTech Cloud are in Annex II of its data processing agreement.

Which Odoo version and what it costs

The module is published on Odoo Apps for 17.0, 18.0, 19.0 and 20.0. If you are still implementing Odoo, pick the version first and then buy the module for that version.

On Odoo Apps it costs €9 per Odoo version, one-off payment, excluding VAT, for 17, 18, 19 and 20. The local service costs €29/month or €290/year excluding VAT (Pro: €58/month or €580/year).

Where you buy it affects what happens when you upgrade: with the subscription, the module for new Odoo versions is included if you bought it on flexigotech.com; on the Odoo App Store, each Odoo version is bought there. If you drop the subscription or the service is suspended, whatever the subscription provides stops and your data stays in your Odoo.

Criteria to decide whether it fits

  • If you already run Odoo 17, 18, 19 or 20 and someone on your team can configure the module, it fits with no extra groundwork.
  • If nobody can configure it, plan for a separate implementation, because the setup is not part of the service.
  • If you have older data you want inside, plan the import separately.
  • If you expect to change Odoo version, buying on flexigotech.com means new versions of the module are included with the subscription; the database migration has to be handled another way.
  • If you work with staging or test copies, the service covers them too.
  • If you need to know how quickly you will hear back, the first response comes within 1 working day.
  • If you are worried about what happens when you stop paying, your data stays in your Odoo.

How FlexigoTech can help

FlexigoTech implements Odoo 17, 18, 19 and 20 and builds bespoke connectors and integrations. What the service leaves out (the initial setup, loading historical data or adapting the module) can be scoped as a separate project. You will find the details and the purchase on the module page on flexigotech.com and the Odoo Apps listing.
