Whistleblower Channel errors in Odoo: when each message appears and what to do

Whistleblower Channel error messages appear when something is missing before you publish a channel, when you try to skip a report state or when you touch a record that only accepts new entries. Below you will find each message word for word, when it shows up and what to do, grouped by the task you were doing.

How to read these messages

The messages in this table are in English. We have kept them word for word so you can search by pasting what appears on your screen. They are ordered by task: publishing a channel, setting up the Responsable, moving a report, requesting an extension, closing, attaching files, adjusting retention and touching the records the module protects.

Report states, extension and closure

Several messages set out the order the module enforces. A report can only be acknowledged from Received, only an acknowledged report can move to triage, and the investigation starts from triaged or acknowledged. If one of these warnings appears, first check which state the report is in on the form's status bar.

The extension goes through two checks: a justification of at least 30 characters and a cap of 6 months from receipt. The messages cite art. 9.2.d of Ley 2/2023: this is what the module checks, not a legal summary. To close, the module asks for the outcome (Outcome) and the measures summary, as well as a valid closure state.

Append-only records and the audit pack

The libro-registro, the access log and the lifecycle events are append-only: the module does not let you modify or delete their entries. The six warnings in the table that mention append-only come from this, and the message itself says so.

The audit pack has its own control: downloading it requires the Responsable, DPO or Auditor group. Packs live under Whistleblowing › Audit Packs.
