Implementing Odoo with connectors: what the subscription covers and what it does not

The connector subscription pays for the link between Odoo and your sales channel: the servers, the monitoring, the updates when the platform changes its API, and support. It does not pay for configuring the module for you, customisations or importing your history: those are quoted separately, by the hour or to a closed scope depending on the case. The marketplace's own fees are charged by the platform. Here are six ideas worth correcting before you ask for a price.

Myth: "The connector subscription includes setting everything up"

Reality: the subscription pays for the connection service. With the Connector plan, Odoo is linked to a marketplace, a shop or an application, and that connection runs on FlexigoTech's servers and goes through its cloud. The cloud stores the credentials encrypted, monitors the sync and sends an email if something fails; if the platform changes its API, both the module and the service are adapted. Support gives a first response within 1 working day, or within 4 working hours with Pro.

What the subscription does not include: customisations, migrating the database, configuring the module for you, importing historical data and third-party costs such as a marketplace fee. If you need any of these, they are quoted separately.

Myth: "With Odoo Online I save on the server"

Reality: the modules do not work on Odoo Online, which does not accept third-party modules. You need Odoo.sh or your own server. The same goes for custom development with your own Python modules: standard Odoo Online only lets you install apps from the Store and use Odoo Studio. It is the first decision of the implementation, and it is worth taking before you load any data.

Myth: "Every new channel multiplies the bill"

Reality: the Connector plan costs €49 a month or €490 a year, VAT excluded, and covers up to 3 platform accounts (10 with Pro). If you connect three different channels in the same database, the 3-connector pack costs €129 a month or €1,290 a year plus VAT, and you can swap one for another from your account up to 3 times a month. The All-inclusive plan covers every connector in one database, including those published later, for €249 a month or €2,490 a year. Paying for the year equals 10 months.

An example with Mirakl: if you sell on Leroy Merlin and Decathlon, there is a profile for each of them for the Mirakl connector. Prices are per module and per Odoo production database, in euros and VAT excluded, and we only sell to businesses and professionals.

Myth: "If I stop one day, I lose my data"

Reality: without a subscription, or with the service suspended, whatever the subscription provides stops, but the data stays in your Odoo: nothing is deleted there. FlexigoTech deletes the connection data from its cloud within 30 days at most.

Myth: "Whatever is missing gets programmed by the hour and you never know the cost"

Reality: whatever the subscription does not include has no single price, because it depends on the scope. We work by the hour or to a closed scope: you tell us your case, we tell you how we would charge it, and nothing goes on the invoice without your prior written approval.

Before coding anything, check whether Odoo Studio is enough. According to FlexigoTech, it covers fields, views, reports or simple automations. Custom development fits when you need real Python logic, a connector with an external system (a marketplace, a payment gateway, a tax agency) or a country-specific tax module.

Myth: "Every new Odoo version means paying for the module again"

Reality: the module is bought separately, with a one-off payment per Odoo version: €9 for the connectors. With the subscription, the module for new versions is included if you bought it on flexigotech.com. If you bought it on the Odoo App Store, each Odoo version is bought there.

How we set it up

At FlexigoTech we implement Odoo 17, 18, 19 or 20 with our connectors and, when the way you work needs a piece that does not exist, a small custom integration. Each connector can be tried for 14 days from Odoo, free and without a card. Before we give you a price, we go through which channels you have, which data you want to bring over and what Odoo already does out of the box.
